The
objectives of Battle and District Chamber of Commerce are to
promote and protect the trade, commerce, manufacturing, professional
and general interests of the Town.
We
have over 100 members and you can find their details in the Members section
of this web site.
We
meet bi-monthly (in the odd months of the year ~ January, March
and so on) on the third Monday at 7.30 pm. Our meetings are open
for all members to attend; we have a number of committees which
run particular events, but we do not have an overall executive
committee. We quite often have a short talk at the beginning
of the meeting; two past speakers were Chris Lethem, District
Judge, who gave a talk on the Human Rights Act, and Gregory Barker,
Member of Parliament for Battle and Bexhill, who talked about
his plans to help small businesses.
During
the even months of the year (February, April and so on) we organise
a social event - more details.
